Biography
'Unsigned Artist of the Week' -www. tunetribe.com (Nov '07)
Luke Kaden is a confident, assured artist who has a
canon of songs that have a timeless quality, yet with a distinctly
melancholy feel,” Pop Junkie.
He is a dynamic young troubadour with a classic rock
voice who moulds slow moving ballads, melodic rock and catchy
toe-tappers, all fashioned in the vein of great songwriters past and
present.
After growing up in Australia - where he successfully
released the EP ‘Rain down on me’(Produced by Chris Neehause – The Go
Betweens/ Powderfinger) - followed by stints living in France and the
States, he’s now settled in the UK.
Since being in London, Luke has teamed up with producer
Richard Mathews (The Rakes/ Futureheads) to record the double A-side
single Hide [need you tonight]/Lost in lights (available globally from
iTunes), the press describing it as:
“A pop ode to an absent partner, while the flipside is a
slow-burning balled with mournful cello.”
His catchy rock tunes and heartfelt ballads deal with
despair; hope; the mess the world finds itself in and the need to find
a common ground; lost friendship; found love; standing tall and
fighting back against it all.
Influenced by the songwriting of Ryan Adams, Noel
Gallagher, Jeff Buckley and David Gray, high-calibre bands The Verve,
U2 and The Police, while genre-wise, American punk-rock, alt-country,
Britpop, and rock all help to form his output.
A 10-date tour of France in late 2006, and another to
Spain and France (2007), were supported
by National (RTL2) and regional radio play in France, while his melodic
rock/Alt.-pop music
is gaining plays on terrestrial and web radio around the world.
His early material has been played on Australian
National television and recent interviews are stoking interest in the
UK and Europe.
