Luke Kaden is a dynamic young artist with a classic rock voice who moulds slow moving ballads and catchy melodic rock, all fashioned in the vein of great songwriters past and present.
Influenced by the songwriting of Jeff Buckley, David Gray and acts such as U2 and Ryan Adams. The late 60s Californian scene and Britpop also help to form his output.
A powerful and heartfelt performer, singer, and songwriter with an eye for lyrical honesty, his songs are intelligent, accessible, and memorable.
Inspired early on by the song writing of Lenny Kravitz and Crowded House's Neil Finn, Kaden quickly developed a taste for great American and British acts, realising his real inspirations lay further afield from his native Australia.
Luke relocated to London after time spent living in France and the US state of Vermont, but not before his previous band recorded a well-received EP with recognised producer Chris Neehause (Powderfinger, The Go-Betweens).
Kaden has said in the past, "London seemed a natural step for me as it's close to the states and also Europe. Musicians like The Verve, Travis, and Oasis were another reason. And the heritage is also appealing - The Beatles, The Who, and The Police - groups that really helped shape popular music both in the states and worldwide."
"But I also love American music, artists like Bruce Springsteen, Matchbox Twenty, The Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer and fellow Australian Keith Urban. I would never want to limit my references."
Rough Trade likened Kaden's songwriting to: "an intelligent Buckley/Drake-laden sound." Pop Junkie called him, "a confident, assured artist who has a canon of songs that have a timeless quality," while download store Tunetribe recently named him 'unsigned artist of the week.'
Since being in London Luke has worked with various producers, including Richard Mathews (The Rakes, The Futureheads) and Nigel Jordan (Roxy Music, The Libertines) developing his sound, while performing extensively in London's top clubs and touring regionally in Europe.
Recently Luke has been in Los Angeles songwriting and performing.
